Available in: Adobe Acrobat, Epub, Mobipocket (.mobi)

Blurb:
The odds are against him, but Jerin will find a way! With or without the gene Kaley will be his…

On Setera, only one in four hundred thousand is born possessing the cryan gene—a gene essential to the survival of the Seteran race. Jerin and the others like him are duty bound to find the match to that gene somewhere in the universe, for it can no longer be found on Setera. With no clear instructions on how this task is to be accomplished it is a daunting undertaking, like finding a needle in a haystack.

Jerin’s assigned quadrant is Earth. After twelve years of searching he is beginning to lose hope, until the answer hits him over the head with a frying pan. Now all he has to do is convince this beautiful, feisty woman to follow him to another universe in a galaxy far far away.

Excerpt:

The sound of heavy male boots crossing the foyer floor filled the air. It seemed to be a single perpetrator. Damn, he was taking his time. Something made a heavy thudding noise as it hit the floor. What was going on out there? She wanted to stomp her foot in exasperation. She pulled her head back and leaned it against the wall. The footsteps became louder, causing the rate of her breathing to escalate. She chanced another peek.

He stood in profile with his hands loosely settled on his hips as if he were surveying a new residence. The man had to stand at least six feet six inches tall with broad shoulders and muscled arms. His biceps flexed and filled his red and blue plaid shirt sleeve. Tight blue jeans showed off legs thick with sinew and hard flesh. The corner of his mouth tilted into a smile creating a dimple. He turned his head to the side just enough for her to see a lock of his black hair fall carelessly into the middle of his forehead. It was all she could do to stifle the gasp that threatened to escape her lips. He looked like Superman.

Too bad she had to bash him over the head. Her body was telling her it would prefer to be doing something else to him.

He took the two steps down into the sunken living room. If she were going to do this, now would be the time. At five feet nine inches tall, she was not a small woman. Truth be told, she was a curvy full sized woman and rather strong, more muscle than fat. Even so, she had her doubts about her ability to subdue this man. Kaley gripped the frying pan, knuckles turning white with the strain of it. Inhaling a fortifying and courage building breath, she charged. He turned and his blue eyes filled with surprise as the pan in her hands made contact with the side of his head.

The next moments seemed to happen in slow motion. The man’s arms moved upward in a reflex and defensive action. His hands gripped her upper arms. As he lost consciousness, the weight of his body pulled her off balance, sending her tumbling to the floor with him. Her head collided with his jaw. Dazed, she rolled off of him and struggled to her knees. Placing her palms on her temples she pressed, trying to ease the pain and steady the dizziness that was threatening to send her into the same state as the intruder. After three deep breaths, her eyes began to focus. The giant lay before her as still as death. A moment of panic washed over her. Had she killed him? She placed her ear to his chest in search of the answer. The steady thump thump of his heartbeat greeted her, and she sighed in relief. The overpowering need to vomit overcame her. She rose and scrambled to the bathroom.

Mary Ramsey ~ an interview and her novel ~ Dakota Son

I AM PLEASED TO WELCOME AUTHOR

Mary Ramsey

BANTER – STUFF ABOUT YOU
Q: Are you a morning person, or a midnight candle burner?
A: I try to be a midnight candle burner but If I had a retail shift I’m out like a light before 10 pm. But then I become a morning person, because for whatever reason my brain will not allow me to get any more then 7 hours of sleep.

Q: Bedtime, relaxing so you can sleep sounds. Is your preference, white noise, TV, soft music, ocean waves, forest or meadow sounds, babbling brook, or something else?
A: TV sounds. Food Network is perfect for this, they love to run a marathon of one show for the last few hours of the day then switch to infomercials (usually for calming items). That way there’s not waking up in the middle of the night to a horror movie from the 70’s or whatever mishmash that gets aired.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to? Do you have an all time favorite song?
A: I listen to anything that inspires me but currently I’m addicted to Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty. But I have a secret love for Despacito by Louis Fonsi (there’s a reason for the ‘Alexa play Despacito’ meme- it’s the ultimate pick me up.)

Q: Snack of choice – chips, pretzels, popcorn, or cookies, cake, candy? Or maybe you’re a healthy snacker - fruit, yogurt, nuts, raisins?
A: I’m an energy drink addict (before 6 pm, after 6 pm I made sure to switch to sparkling water.) There’s something about the carbonation that is so satisfying. But if I had to make my favorite snack food of all time: Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy Coffee Caramel Fudge in a coffee cup, surrounded by Oreo Cookies.

BOOKS – ABOUT THE CRAFT

Q: How did you come to write your genre of choice?
A: I wanted to answer this question because I have no idea what I wrote. A few years ago Dakota Son was a 200,000 word fairy tale told in third person. Then from research I found that 200k is insane for a single novel and that any novel that stars a teen should fall in to the Young Adult category. (And that Dakota Son has soo much curgin and sex wot be considered by a Christian publisher. lol)

Over all I just started writing and wrote Sean’s life from beginning to end.

Q: Which element of book writing is the most difficult for you?
A: The process of getting feedback. I know people say “take a writing class” (and yes, I have) but there are so many unwritten rules that only feedback can address.

I have more professional contacts then I did at the start of my journey but much of my feedback had to come from paid sources. My friends and family would just say “This looks fine.”- not helpful!

Q: Who's your favorite author?
A: Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author of all time. His stories are like modern-day fairytales incorporating realism with a hint of the fantastical. When I started Dakota Son my dream was to be a female Chuck Palahniuk (the earlier drafts were a bit more adult themed.)

Q: Do you always know how a story will end when you begin writing it?
A: Absolutely not. I come from a fanfiction background and I can write an entire story, beginning, middle and end- then someone will post “Are you going to continue this?” So pretty much everything I write I have to force myself to make an ending spot. But everything could also continue indefinatly.

BOOKS - NOW LETS PROMOTE – STRUT YOUR STUFF

Q: What are you working on now? Would you like to share anything about it?
A: On my blog you can find my current projects, such as my creepypasta series Caterpillar, about a demon-fairy princess.

Q: Do you have a new book coming out soon? Tell us about it.
A: Dakota Son is currently avalible. It is part 1 of 2 (since the original manuscript was 200,000 words), but I want to get some feedback on the characters before revealing their final fates.

Q: How can we find you? Do you have a web page, FaceBook page or any buy links?
A: My blog: https://dourdan.wordpress.com
     My twitter: https://twitter.com/pisforpearl
Instagram does not work with my decade old laptop so my photos and art can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/dourdan

Loc Glin ~ presents ~ Undivided Attention (A Mystic Museum Novella)

First let me fill you in on the premise of The Mystic Museum Series. Minerva’s Mystic Museum is located in New York City. Every full moon the “powers that be” choose someone from the visitors of the museum. This someone, known as the mystic walker, will be the hero/heroine of the novel. The “powers” select someone they feel deserves a second chance, or just a chance to follow their destiny. Minerva, the curator and caretaker of the museum meets the chosen mystic walker. Through the magic that has been entrusted to her, Minerva supplies them with the opportunity to change their lives.

Blurb:
On the eve of her wedding, Korina discovers the rumors of her betrothed’s hideous looks are true. Fearing the stories of his brutality are also factual she takes drastic action. The result of which lands her in an alien dimension.

Five years later she is compelled to visit Minerva’s Mystic Museum. The ‘powers that be’ have interceded giving her the chance to change that destiny.

Korina is sent home where she discovers it is the morning of her wedding day. Determined to do the right thing, she marries Adam.

Witches are not unknown to Korina, so how will she handle the curse that has divided her husband into two men?

Adam is caring and kind. Arun is, well, a bastard! Unbeknownst to her they are two halves of the whole man she has married.

Will Adam’s ugly face and Arun’s kinky sexual desires send her running home? Or, will she stay with her husband, honoring her betrothal commitment?

Does Korina have a kinky side as well?

How will she break the curse? Does she want to?

Story Excerpt:
Korina snuggled down under the feather comforter, trying to prolong a wonderful dream in which she was in her old bed in Kire Dell. Inhaling deeply, she enjoyed an almost forgotten pleasure. How long had it been since she’d inhaled the sweet fragrance of Kazmi? Her mother favored the scent and made sure that the sheets at home always smelled of it. A lump filled her throat, and she sighed around it. A strong wave of homesickness assailed her.

Why had she run away? That question frequented her mind often. She’d done it because the man she was betrothed to since birth was reported to be ugly, deformed, and mean. She’d heard the rumors but steadfastly refused to believe them until the night before her wedding day.

The memory played again in her mind.

Alyssa, her lifetime friend, had run into her room. “He’s here. I saw him arrive,” she said, out of breath, her hands clutching at her chest.

“And?” Korina asked.

Alyssa’s horror-filled expression said it all, but she had to hear it.

“I’m so sorry, Kori.” Alyssa wrapped her arms about Korina in a hug.

Korina slipped out of Alyssa’s arms. “Tell me,” she said, full of fear.

“It is worse than we imagined.” Alyssa dramatically plopped onto the bed and started to cry. “He is the ugliest man I have ever seen.”

Korina paled, staggered to the bed, and sat down.

“What am I supposed to do? How can I marry someone that ugly? If that’s true about him, then he must be mean too. He’ll beat me.” Her fear escalated.

“You could run away,” Alyssa suggested. She sat up and started to think about that as a possible solution.

“Where could I go that my father couldn’t find me and bring me back? This marriage is important to our family. It’s about honor. The commitment was made years ago. If I run away, we will be disgraced.”

“Not if you’re kidnapped.”

“What?”

“We can make it look like a kidnapping. No one will know it wasn’t.”

“That’s a good idea,” Korina agreed, her hopes rising. “But it won’t work.”

“Why?”

“When I’m released or escape and I’m home again, the wedding will still take place.”

“We could fake your death.”

“How?”

“By having a witch put a spell on you.”

“And what happens when I come back to life?”

“You don’t. If you come back to life, it will be the same as running away.”

“But that means I have to go away forever,”

“You’ll find some way to do it, and you’ll find some way to let me know that you’re okay and where you are.”

“That’s a pretty drastic plan.”

“Kori, I know what he looks like, and believe me, it’s not drastic.”

Well, she’d gone to that witch and gotten that spell.

Only something had gone wrong. She never woke up. Instead, she’d found herself on an alien planet. Luckily, she’d been able to fit in. Her ability to learn quickly had served her well on Earth. The similarity between the two worlds was uncanny. She quickly discovered the differences and found that she liked them. Women had more rights in her new world, so she was able to take care of herself without many problems.

If she wasn’t so homesick and lonely, she might even be happy. Finding a man to love and making friends in this new world was beginning to seem impossible. There were times when being around people here gave her the heebie-jeebies. Maybe they felt the same way about her. That might explain it.

Korina inhaled deeply. The scent of Kazmi once again filled her nostrils. With her eyes still closed, she pulled the covers closer to her face savoring the moment, not wanting it to end. This is wonderful, a bit strange but wonderful.

The door burst open.

“Kori, Kori, wake up,” Lena chirped as she bounded across the room. The bed rocked as she jumped onto it.

Korina froze. This is really bizarre. It feels so real.

A touch of panic infused her. She peeked out from the covers. Her little sister sat on the bed. Lena’s long blond hair curled to her waist. The child was dressed in her blue bunny pajamas, complete with the ears. Tears filled Korina’s eyes. This is exactly how she remembered her sister. This dream was so real it hurt.

Lena leaned close to her. “Why are you crying, Kori?”

“Because I love you. It’s been so long since I talked with you.”

Lena smiled and laughed. “I love you too. Mommy sent me to wake you up.” Lena furrowed her brows. “I talked with you last night. Did you forget?”

“No, I didn’t forget.”

Lena kissed Korina’s cheek. Korina touched the wet spot left by her lips.

“Mommy says you have a lot to do today. It’s your wedding day, remember?”

“My wedding day?”

Korina bolted upright.

“Then I’m not dreaming? I’m here?”

“Where else would you be, silly?”

Lena clambered off the bed.

“I’ll tell Mommy you’ll be down in a few minutes.”

The door slammed closed behind Lena after she ran through it.

Korina pinched herself.

“Ouch.” She smiled.

“I’m really home.” She started to laugh. “Thank you, Minerva!”
