TEASER / EXCERPT:

“So how did it go last night?” Megan asked as she crossed the ugly, black-and-white, checked kitchen floor.

“Umm,” Jennifer hedged.

“You’re speechless? Is that good or bad?”

“It was the best sex I ever had.” She took a sip of her coffee.

“That’s good, right?” Megan sat down on the other side of the table.

“Yes.”

“So you’re going to see him again?”

“I don’t know.” Jennifer gently massaged her temples, and then ran her fingers through her hair.

“What do you mean? What’s wrong with the guy?”

“Nothing.”

“Then why doesn’t he want to see you again?”

“It’s not him, it’s me.” Jennifer leaned back in the chair. Her fingers were clasped together behind her head, holding her hair away from her face.

“I don’t understand.”

“He is rich,” Jennifer said, throwing her hands into the air.

“So?”

“What would a rich man want with me?”

“What’s not to want? You’re smart, and I know you don’t think so, but you’re beautiful.”

“I have a speech impediment.”

“No, you don’t.”

“I stutter whenever I’m around men.”

BLURB:

The odds are against him, but Jerin will find a way! With or without the gene Kaley will be his…

On Setera, only one in four hundred thousand is born possessing the cryan gene—a gene essential to the survival of the Seteran race. Jerin and the others like him are duty bound to find the match to that gene somewhere in the universe, for it can no longer be found on Setera. With no clear instructions on how this task is to be accomplished it is a daunting undertaking, like finding a needle in a haystack.

Jerin’s assigned quadrant is Earth. After twelve years of searching he is beginning to lose hope, until the answer hits him over the head with a frying pan. Now all he has to do is convince this beautiful, feisty woman to follow him to another universe in a galaxy far far away.

TEASER / EXCERPT:

Set up for the teaser – Jerin has just regained consciousness.

Teaser:

She looked like a warrior goddess standing above him on the landing leading into the living room. Her dark auburn hair was pulled back severely from her face. The long wavy strands flowed freely from the hairpiece gathering the locks together at the crown of her head. She wore a deep purple, tight fitting, one-piece Lycra bodysuit and was barefooted. Eyes the color of dark emeralds flashed a moment of defiance, and then took on a softer more apologetic light.

“That.” She pointed to his left.

He didn’t want to take his eyes from her, but his curiosity got the better of him. Cautiously he turned his head.

“That would explain it.” He smiled. “So, my warrior goddess’s weapon of choice is a frying pan?”

“Your what?” she stammered and then continued, “And no, a frying pan is not my weapon of choice. It was all I could find.”

The timbre of her voice lured his attention back to her. She sounded more insolent than contrite. Something about her spirit made him forget the throbbing in his head. He stood and chuckled. “Then, what is your weapon of choice?”

She sputtered.

“I don’t have a weapon of choice! Do you think I’m a bloody bloodthirsty gang member or something?”

BLURB:
On the eve of her wedding, Korina discovers the rumors of her betrothed’s hideous looks are true. Fearing the stories of his brutality are also factual she takes drastic action. The result of which lands her in an alien dimension.

Five years later she is compelled to visit Minerva’s Mystic Museum. The ‘powers that be’ have interceded giving her the chance to change that destiny.

Korina is sent home where she discovers it is the morning of her wedding day. Determined to do the right thing, she marries Adam.

Witches are not unknown to Korina, so how will she handle the curse that has divided her husband into two men?

Adam is caring and kind. Arun is, well, a bastard! Unbeknownst to her they are two halves of the whole man she has married.

Will Adam’s ugly face and Arun’s kinky sexual desires send her running home? Or, will she stay with her husband, honoring her betrothal commitment?

Does Korina have a kinky side as well?

How will she break the curse? Does she want to?

Here is the premise for the Mystic Museum Series

Minerva’s Mystic Museum is located in New York City. Every full moon the “powers that be” choose someone from the visitors of the museum. This someone, known as the mystic walker, will be the hero/heroine of the novel. The “powers” select someone they feel deserves a second chance, or just a chance to follow their destiny. Minerva, the curator and caretaker of the museum meets the chosen mystic walker. Through the magic that has been entrusted to her, Minerva supplies them with the opportunity to change their lives.

TEASER / EXCERPT:

Weaving between the comfortable furniture, she crossed the room. When she was closer to the window, she realized that she had been mistaken. The man standing there had too much hair to be Adam. He turned to face her. His scowling, yet devastatingly handsome face startled her. If Adam was the most homely man she had ever seen, then this man was the most handsome. The chiseled features, clear skin, familiar blue eyes, and thick black hair momentarily took her breath away. Above familiar blue eyes, his eyebrows were knitted together in a frown.

Maybe she had imagined his remark as she’d entered the room. “Excuse me?” she said, giving him the benefit of her doubt.

“You heard me. The day is slipping away. I want to go riding this morning. I thought you might be interested in joining me.”

“Do I know you?” She knew she didn’t, but she needed a moment to collect herself. Without the frown, he was so handsome her knees were weak.

“That’s right, I forgot. You’ve never met this side of me.” He let out a sigh of impatient frustration. “I am Arun.”

“Arun?”

“Do not play the fool. It does not become you, Korina. Adam told you of me.”

“Where is my husband? I’d like to speak with him.”

“Adam is gone for the day. He will return tonight.”

The man was frowning again, and his eyes flashed. She’d never met this man, yet he appeared to be jealous of her husband.

“Then I cannot go riding with you.”

She was looking into his eyes now, Adam’s eyes.

“Adam told you that you must obey me. I say we go riding.” He crossed his arms over his chest.

His stance was daring her to argue.

If she didn’t want to go riding so badly, she would take him up on that dare. He was the rudest man she’d ever met.

“I’d just like to hear it from him again.”

He rolled his eyes to the back of his head. “Whatever made me think you were intelligent?”

“I’m sure I have no idea,” Korina snarled.

Her temper began to flare. This asshole had been nothing but rude and insulting from the moment they’d met. She took a calming breath and counted to ten in an attempt to stop herself from saying something that wasn’t at all ladylike.

TEASER EXCERPT

She turned the key in the outside door of her apartment building. The door creaked as she opened it. Out of habit she checked her mailbox, emptied it, and stuffed the contents into her purse. Up three flights of steps and next to the last door on the left side of the hall was where her small apartment was located. The lock clicked open just as it had countless times before. If she should feel melancholy about leaving it she didn’t. After the last few weeks, it didn’t even feel like home anymore. She silently thanked that witchy woman Minerva for whatever it was she’d done to send her to Idaho. The whole episode couldn’t be explained rationally. She wasn’t going to seek Minerva out to find out how it had happened either. It was some kind of miracle. She would leave it at that.

She tossed her hoodie on the small, worn sofa and laid her purse on the table. She dropped her keys into the purse, only to have them pop back out because the mail blocked their entrance.

Shamika tsked, pulled the mail out, and dropped it on the table. The envelopes and flyers spread over the table top. While moving them around with her fingertips she saw the usual bills. A lavender envelope caught her eye. She recognized the return address. The handwriting was her mother’s, but the address was her aunt’s.

With trembling hands she ripped open the glued flap. Her heart was pounding. Why would her mother send her a card? They hadn’t been in touch for years. The face of the card read, “Happy Easter,” complete with a bunny rabbit, baby chicks, painted eggs, and tulips. The card was suitable for a six-year-old. Considering that and the fact that it was June, she was confused, curious, and apprehensive. She flipped it open and read.

Dearest Shamika,

I realize that we haven’t been on the best of terms over the last five years. Actually we haven’t been on any terms at all. It’s time to put our differences behind us. You are family, and family matters. I miss you and could really use your support right now. A lot has happened in the last two years, things I do not want to put into a letter.

If you could find it in your heart to come home, I would be so grateful. It doesn’t have to be for good. A short visit would be fine. I don’t care where you live, as long as you’re happy. I know we have been unbending about that in the past, but we have finally come to see that it’s not our decision, it’s yours. Please let us back into your life. Your father has had a heart attack. We don’t know how much longer he will be with us. We would like to be a family again, before it’s too late.

You will find us at Aunt Susan’s house.

All my love,

Mom

Shamika collapsed into the chair next to the table. She stared dumbly at the card she held between her trembling fingers. Heart attack? Her father had had a heart attack? Tears welled up in her eyes. The last time she and her father had talked they’d had angry words, said hurtful things. She’d inherited her pride from her father, her stubbornness, too. Those two traits had kept her family apart long enough. Her mother was right. They needed to be a family again before it was too late.
