Here is the premise for the Mystic Museum Series
Minerva’s Mystic Museum is located in New York City. Every full moon the “powers that be” choose someone from the visitors of the museum. This someone, known as the mystic walker, will be the hero/heroine of the novel. The “powers” select someone they feel deserves a second chance, or just a chance to follow their destiny. Minerva, the curator and caretaker of the museum meets the chosen mystic walker. Through the magic that has been entrusted to her, Minerva supplies them with the opportunity to change their lives.
TEASER / EXCERPT:
Set up for the teaser – Korina is back at home. It is (once again) her wedding day.
Teaser:Korina ran into her mother’s arms. Tears flowed down her cheeks.
“What’s the matter, Kori?” her mother asked.
“Nothing, Mom. I’m just happy to see you. I love you. I’ve missed you.”
She squeezed her mother in a loving hug, burying her face in her mother’s neck.
“Last night you were threatening to run away. You didn’t seem to be concerned about missing me then.”
“I’m sorry about that. I was acting childish. I’m thir—” She cleared her throat. “Twenty-five years old and an adult. I have to take my responsibilities seriously, even if it’s not what I want.”
“Now it’s my turn to be sorry. I have had a look at this man who is to be your husband. I’m afraid the rumors are true. He’s not very good-looking. We can only hope the rest of it is lies. No one can be as heartless as they say he is.”
“It will be all right, Mother.”
“Well, on the bright side…there is a clause in the betrothal agreement.”
“A clause?”
Her mother nodded.
“As long as no children are conceived, either party may end the marriage on the anniversary of the union.” A tear slipped down her cheek. “I’m sorry, baby.”
“I can have my freedom after one year?” She almost bubbled over in her happiness. She’d just done five long years in lonely exile. One year of marriage would be a piece of cake.
“It’s going to be a busy day. You need to get started. Have something to eat. After that, I’ll meet you in your room.”
