Jennifer Hartstrum has trouble with men. Her relationship with an abusive father left her with a speech impediment that flares up only when she dates. Her friend talks her into trying an exciting new dating experience, the Anonymous Club, a place where a date is an adventure and fantasies can come true. One must choose an alias, and anonymity is guaranteed.
Andrew Martin is looking for a woman who can keep up with him outside of the bedroom as well as in bed. He tries the Anonymous Club with low expectations.
When Jennifer and Andrew meet, it is Chemistry 101. Have they found what they are looking for? In a world of aliases and mystery, is anyone really who they say they are? What happens when anonymity is good for one but not the other?
Ever been to Egypt?” he asked.
“Actually,
I have.”
“The
Pyramids?”
“What
is Egypt without the Pyramids?” She was bending toward him.
“And
sand.” He swallowed. He was having trouble holding on to his train of thought.
“Lots
of sand,” she said. “And camels, too.” She was just inches from his face.
“Dirty,
smelly animals,” he said. “And they spit.”
“Speaking
of spit,” she said, moving closer, her face now just inches from his. “Why
don’t you and I share some?” she whispered.
He
couldn’t stand it anymore. He had a hard-on that wouldn’t quit. Her perfume was
intoxicating, and her soft, brown eyes were filled with desire.
He
placed his left hand at the back of her neck. He cupped her cheek in his right.
He stood up. The chair made a scratching sound across the floor. He steadied
her as he lowered his mouth to hers.
