Leslie and Sir James share the experience of losing a loved one. Will Leslie be the woman to break the curse? Or will she be just another victim.

TEASER / EXCERPT:

Rose entered the room in her usual excited flourish. It was time to welcome James home, her favorite part of the day. She smiled. “Welcome home, Cousin James,” she said as she kissed his cheek and hugged him. Her blonde hair was done up in a fashionable coiffure. Her pink dress was just the right shade to highlight her fair complexion. Her blue eyes sparkled with enjoyment.

“Rose, you know we are barely related,” he said as he set her aside.

“Yes, I know,” she said. But I want you to remember it. I want you to look at me as a woman, not as a child. Rose’s eyes settled on Leslie. “I see we have company.” She managed a polite smile. Another woman! She wanted to scream.

“Yes, dear. This is Leslie. She will be staying with us for a while.”

“How very nice to meet you, Leslie. I’m sure you and I will become fast friends.” Just when I have him all to myself, he finds another woman. Rose seethed, but she smiled sweetly.
